Welcome to Ardmona Primary School
Ardmona Primary School is a rural school set in a vast picturesque setting five kilometres from Mooroopna Township and 198 kilometres North of Melbourne in the Goulburn Valley. The school has a proud history dating back to 1881 when the school first opened with strong community links. Many of the original families who attended the school still remain associated. Partnerships with the school's parent population and Ardmona Community are a spirited influence of the school along with substantial associations with the local Football club, Kiwanis group, and local Mooroopna Community centre.
The current school building structure incorporates the original building with modifications and alterations. Inclusive of a Numeracy room, Kids Kitchen and open learning spaces. Complimentary to this is the additional withdrawal room supporting visiting specialists and enrichment programs along with the students. High priority in education is the use of technology with each room accomodating an interactive white board.
The extensive playground area of the school is well sheltered with many trees along with structured cover areas over play equipment. Extensive active and passive play areas are predominated with the school having two ovals and a all year round basketball and tennis skills area. A vast space accomodates a "Kids garden and poultry enclosure", shade and hot house with much dynamics in sustainable projects and horticultural activities enhancing the "Kids kitchen" activities.
A key attribute of the school is its inclusive atmosphere that promotes a safe and friendly learning atmosphere for students. Students are encouraged to be safe, be responsible and be a learner encouraging working towards ones full potential.
All teaching staff employed meet the professional requirements for teaching in Victorian Schools with all Education Support Officers University and Tafe qualified.
